Head Coach/Forwards Coach
I started playing rugby while in high school with the Westerville Worms Rugby Club. I continued my playing career at Bowling Green State University where I played for 5 years competing in 4 national tournaments. I had the pleasure to play in South Africa with Rand Afrikaans University and also coach shadow in Ireland with Old Belvedere Rugby Club. I have been at Denison University for 7 years and have had the pleasure of working with players and administrators to make Denison Women’s Rugby one of the top programs in the country.
Stephanie “Parma” Bowers
I started playing rugby when I was 15 years old and a freshmen in high school. I played for the Parma Pink Flamingos. I continued my rugby career at The Ohio State University, and was starting scrum half for five years. At Ohio State I studied Human Development and Family Sciences with a focus in math and science. After college, I played for Scioto Valley Women’s Rugby Club in central Ohio. Three summers ago I helped create an elite women’s 7s squad with my coach titled W1823. I continue to play for W1823. Last fall I began assistant coaching and will continue my coaching career with Denison University Fall of 2016.
I started playing rugby when I was a freshmen in high school with the Eastside Rugby Club. I continued my rugby career at The University of Cincinnati, and was fly half for four years. I was also in the U20 USA National Team Pool. At University of Cincinnati I studied Mechanical Engineering. Prior to coaching at Denison, I have coached with Ohio State, Lakewood High School, Ohio Elite High School and College teams, as well as the Midwest Thunderbirds U-19 and U-23 teams. I began as the backs coach with Denison Women’s Rugby in the Fall of 2014.
